Description:
This is by far the best RPG I've played on the Android, iPhone or iPad. AWESOME UI and controls (except inverting the axis doesn't change the mounts axis, which makes it difficult for us non-flight sim users to switch between normal movement and mounts). I have three things to say:
1). I hope future updates will add content and higher levels, more items, etc. Make the main quest bosses more difficult with each update to force beating the new side quests.. This game is very immersive. It took me about 30 hours, give or take a couple, to beat all the quests (I think I found them all).
2) to everyone who complains it is too hard, mages don't damage enough, etc: The game is supposed to be a challenge in some ways. Where is the fun in having everything handed to you?
I played through as a Mage on the hardest difficulty my first run through, giving all my points to energy, and by the end I didn't even have to try and fight the boss. It was too easy really, probably because I made my Mage too strong by the way I configured it or just because I did all the side quests before finishing the main storyline. I haven't played the other classes yet so they may be more of a challenge. But from what I can tell, it would be nice to make the challenge a little more difficult, maybe an extreme mode or something.
Maybe I'm just too much of an old school gamer, back when games like Crystalis, the original Final Fantasy, Dragon Warrior, Zelda, and others were the norm for RPGs. There were no real maps, arrows for directions, or other helpful items. Just a vague sentence or two to point you a little more in the right direction. But, that vagueness made you really think about what you needed to do next and what direction to go in. I still remember hand drawing all of the caves in Crystalis on paper to make sure I didn't miss a room with a key item, like the Pegasus boots. That took time and effort and made it really fun since you had to try. I think my cousin and I spent a year of weekends here and there beating it. Not because we were grinding, though that happened too, but because we had to find our way around without being hand carried everywhere.
3). Thanks for the Uthu update. I had beaten everything but that until tonight and could not get it to load. It just froze in loading and stayed there indefinitely. Now, it works fine. Nice to be able to do all the quests
All in all, an awesome game. Though it's older, I am now going to play Ravensword and will be on the lookout for Aralon updates and more great releases from Crescent Moons.
